Project Mélange is a result of a search for a common platform for the butoh dance and photography. The artists ask themselves a question about the dialog between a photographed matter and a matter of the body. They wish to create "a living photography", a notebook of the surroundings.
The merging of the butoh body and images depicting a process of decay, opens new fields of meaning. It raises the biologism of changes around us to another level.
Mélange asks a question about the identity of a contemporary body. Can the body get a new integrity? Can the body living now in the process of defragmentation reach a new dimension?

Photography performed by Pawel Maciak comes from Metabolism series, 2004 (Rothko, Bird 2, Leftovers, Meat, Fork, Chest, Neck, Meat, Soup III, Plant 1, Reverse).
