Dance Station

 

The Stage for Dance is the Institute's own programme which allows for a long term planning of the repertoire dance performances. Within the programme, different stages may establish long-time cooperation with independent dance theatres and choreographers or professional institutional dance groups (...). Programme aims to develop dance repertoire in Poland, to facilitate access to regular dance presentations."

This year, the second edition of programme was launched. One of the winning projects was called Dance Station by Stacja Orunia from Gdansk, Poland (curated by Anna Kazmierczak). Within the project TO-EN Butoh Company presented last major stage works. From March to May Stacja Orunia Theatre hosted dance performances Mélange and Embers choreographed and performed by TO-EN.  
 
The performances were accompanied by meetings with dance critics: Anna Krolica and Julia Hoczyk as well as the promotion of Krolica's latest book Sztuka do odkrycia. Szkice o polskim tańcu.
